^ TOP ^

Can I authorize a Joint Owner to access my account using PC Branch?

Yes. You may authorize your Joint Owner(s) to have access to your account via PC Branch. However, there really isn't a need to do so unless your joint owner does not have an account in their own name. All accounts on which a person is a joint owner should display when they log into their own account using their own password.
However, if you do give your account number and PC Branch password to your joint owner, you should remember that they will have access to view all of your account information, transfer funds, make payments to your loan accounts and request loan advances. For security, any check requests for advances or withdrawals will be written in your name. USAgencies Credit Union strongly advises you not to divulge your password to anyone, including Joint Owners, unless you authorize them to have FULL access to all of your USAgencies Savings, Investment, and Loan accounts you have associated with your membership number now and in the future.

We strongly recommend that joint owners open a separate USACU Membership account in their own name, and register for access to PC Branch using their own account. By doing this, they will have access to any account on which they are a joint owner without needing to access your account using your PC Branch Password.

Is the Internet safe and secure for online account access?

When you are using PC Branch, you are using a secure site. USAgencies Credit Union is committed to online technology and has taken steps to ensure that accessing your accounts via the Internet is safe and secure, by implementing state-of-the-art security standards.

Additionally, we allow you to select a password of your choosing that will be easy for you to remember and keep "secret." This password is used to authenticate you each time you log on to the PC Branch system, prior to allowing you to begin viewing your information. The confidentiality of your accounts is maintained as the data is passed from our host computer to your personal computer in an encrypted format, where your browser then decodes the information for you to view. This prevents the data from being intercepted and/or viewed by an unauthorized third party.

USAgencies Credit Union has also installed secure firewalls to ensure that no unauthorized access is permitted. Additionally, each user session is set up for a specific period of time; when it is exceeded the session times out. If your session times out and you are not finished using PC Branch, you will need to log on again. This reduces "the window of opportunity" for an unauthorized user to access your account information if you walk away from your computer without logging off of PC Branch. And, you must reenter your password each time you request a transaction using PC Branch. This further prevents someone from conducting a transaction on your account if you should happen to leave your PC connected to PC Branch. Every effort was made along the way, as the system was designed and developed, to ensure that this system is as secure as possible.

How can I keep my account information confidential when using PC Branch?

USAgencies Credit Union is confident that we have taken all of the necessary security precautions to ensure that our Internet account access service is secure and that your account information remains confidential. However, it is also your responsibility to play an active role in protecting the security of your accounts. Following are ways that you can protect yourself and your accounts:

Never share your password with anyone-- even family members. If you are the only one who knows your password, you have protected your accounts against unauthorized access. REMEMBER, NO REPRESENTATIVE OF USAGENCIES CREDIT UNION WILL EVER ASK YOU FOR YOUR PC BRANCH PASSWORD.

We recommend that you change your password on a regular basis; however, you should change your password immediately if you think that your password may have been compromised, and contact the credit union without delay.

Do not walk away from your computer in the middle of an active PC Branch session. If you are logged on, and walk away, anyone can sit down to your computer and have immediate access to your account information. Always remember to log off when you are finished with your session.

USAgencies Credit Union strongly recommends that you clear your browsers cache after you leave the PC Branch site. This prevents someone else from being able to view your account information that is temporarily stored on your computer. You can clear your cache by closing down your browser and then re-initiate it. For maximum security when viewing your account information over the Internet, USAgencies Credit Union strongly recommends that you use a browser with 128-bit, U.S. security level, encryption.
